"Delivering independence for local people with sight loss"
There are more than 4000 visually impaired individuals (VIPs) living in West Suffolk and most, around 85 percent, are over 65 years old. Longevity, unhealthy lifestyles and other factors mean that more and more of us will experience significant sight impairment than ever before.
The Association has one simple aim – to help individuals maintain their independence in the face of the many challenges posed by sight loss. A team of part time professional staff together with over 150 dedicated volunteers, provide a range of services offering information, emotional support, benefits advice, practical aids to daily living and social inclusion throughout West Suffolk.
Anyone connected with sight loss which means just about everyone, from professionals to the relatives friends and family members of those with sight problems, our members and the public at large.
